Location: Richmond Olympic Oval (6111 River Road, Richmond B.C.) Date: Saturday, February 28th, 2025 REGISTRATION One event (Poomsae or Kyorugi): $80.00 Two events: $160.00 Additional Events: $40.00 each after the initial $160.00 Coaches Pass: $20.00 *Please note: prices do not include online registration fees No handwritten applications will be accepted. NO REFUNDS Registration Deadline: Saturday, February 7th @ 11:59 pm Spectator Fee: $10.00 per person, Family $20.00, under 5 free (CASH ONLY). Coaches meeting: Via zoom. General Enquiries & Registration: If you have any questions, please email: bctkdtournaments@gmail.com COACHES Dress code: Athletic or business casual attire Jeans and doboks are not permitted Any type of cap/hat is not permitted Closed footwear only, no heels, sandals, slippers, or clogs (ie - crocs, birkenstocks) No chewing gum or use of electronic devices (cell phone or video cameras) while coaching REMINDER: ALL COACHES MUST REGISTER AND PAY POOMSAE Competition Rules: Latest published World Taekwondo Poomsae Competition Rules Competition Format: Single Elimination for HP Blackbelts Cutoff for Recreational Blackbelts and Colour Belts Competition Events: Colour Belt & Recreational Black Belts: Recognized poomsae for the designated belt rank HP Black Belts: Recognized: Individual, Pair, Team Freestyle: Individual, Pair Duration: HP Recognized Poomsae - up to 90 seconds, 30-second break HP Freestyle Poomsae - from 90 seconds to 100 seconds Equipment and Uniform: Colour Belt and Recreational: White colour taekwondo uniform and poomsae dobok acceptable HP & Freestyle: Official World Taekwondo-approved Poomsae Dobok only KYORUGI Competition Rules: Latest published World Taekwondo Kyorugi Competition Rules Colour belt and Youth Black Belt - no head contact ALL 12-year-old black belts and older - head contact allowed Competition Format: Best of 3 rounds Single Elimination Duration: Colour Belts: 1-minute rounds, 30-second rest Recreational, Youth, Cadet, Jr Black Belts: 1.5-minute rounds, 45-second rest HP & Ultra Black Belts: 2-minute rounds, 1-minute rest (schedule subject to change upon tournament committee's approval) Equipment & Uniform: White taekwondo uniform mandatory (no coloured uniforms permitted) Chest protector, groin protector, arm guards, shin guards, clear or white mouth guard (if wearing braces, must cover both top and bottom) Headgear (colour must match the chest protector; white headgear acceptable) Gloves and foot protector (optional) All HIGH PERFORMANCE AND ULTRA BLACK BELT SPARRING require Gloves and KPNP E-Socks. Weigh-In (Applicable to High-Performance AND Recreational (12 years old and up) Cadet, Junior, Senior, and Ultra Black Belt Kyorugi athletes) Remember to bring a photo ID (Kukkiwon ID / GAL / Government-Issued ID) Location: 2 locations 1) SureStay Best Western Richmond 7188 Westminster Hwy 2) Chang's Taekwondo Surrey 19232 Enterprise Way, Surrey near 56 Avenue Date: February 27th. Time: 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM Includes “Out of town” competitors. UPDATE: PLEASE NOTE THAT ATHLETES AND COACHES REGISTERING MUST HAVE A PROPER PHOTO OF THEMSELVES IN THEIR PROFILE PICTURES. DRAWINGS/SIDE VIEW PHOTOS/ANYTHING THAT ISN'T A PHOTO OF YOURSELF WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION. ALL COACHES MUST REGISTER, OR YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE YOUR COACH'S PASS. PLEASE NOTE THAT MANY ATHLETES HAVE NO ONE IN THEIR DIVISIONS. THE TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE WILL BE MOVING SOME ATHLETES TO OTHER DIVISIONS TO ENSURE THEY HAVE AT LEAST 1 OR 2 OTHER COMPETITORS. ALSO PLEASE NOTE SOME ADULTS MIGHT NOT HAVE ANYONE IN THEIR DIVISIONS. The tournament committee reserves the right to change categories as needed. Qualifications: According to the WT Taekwondo Federation of B.C. Constitutional bylaws.
